Q. Hello my name is Lena and I'm 13 weeks +4 pregnan. I am rhesus negative. I had a misscarriage last year at 6 weeks +4 but did not receive any Anti -D injection after the misscarriage which I now read that perhaps I should have. Though I do wonder if there actually is any risk that my blood would have mixed with the small 6 weeks embryo's as I'm wondering if any blood has actually been created when its that small???
I'm going to see my GP on thursday and have a test to check if I have created antibodies. I had a scan at 12 weeks and everything seemed fine. But I had some small bleeding in week 6 and very small bleeding in week 12 (pre scan) after intercourse. I only found out I was Rhesus negative last week and have since read so much on the internet that off course makes one more and more worried. If you have any comment or advice on the above please let me know.
A. Yes you should have received anti D after your miscarriage. The risks will not be apparent until you can find out whether or not there are any antibodies. If there are, your baby will be monitored when born. Discuss this with the consultant if you do indeed have antibodies.
